Designing a home workstation can be overwhelming but there are three main factors that need to be considered. First account for all of the items that will be stored and/or displayed. Second select the space where the work station will be placed and determine its size based on the items that will be housed as well as the location. Third consider the style and design that will be achieved.
For this project the client wanted an elegant open unit where she could display books and accessories. We created an open work station with two floating shelves, a floating desk with leather top with three drawers and task lighting.
Some of the best designs are the simplest. This high gloss black lacquer dining table is a great example of elegance and functionality. One of the essential elements of a piece of furniture like this is the overall shape and how the lines come together. To achieve elegance with a table in this style and size requires master level craftsmanship to be thin/ elegant, durable and functional. This table would not be the same with a bulkier base or top.
